Pickup strategies that work

During the first weeks of December, the amount of parcels delivered by Unisend postal machines has already more than doubled. Nevertheless, over 97 percent parcels continue to reach recipients on the next working day. However, as post machines fill up rapidly, residents are invited to pick up parcels too soon - thus freeing up space for new parcels.
Currently, over a fifth of Unisend parcels are picked up from post machines within two hours. The total average of picking up parcels is just over 13 hours.

With the holiday rush in full swing, convenience is key

"We want to thank our customers for such a quick collection of parcels from post machines - in the pre-holiday period, every free post office box is very important. This allows an even wider circle of our customers to enjoy the shipments as soon as possible. If the Unisend post office to which the package was ordered is still full, we leave it at the next nearest post office in the network. Finally, even with the maximum occupancy of the post machines, our customers will not have to wait outside waiting for parcels to be delivered from the hands of the courier. For the second year in a row, we will offer to pick up parcels without waiting in a warm place, upon arrival at the post office closest to the post machine," says Deimantė Žebrauskaitė, Head of the Customer Experience Department of Lithuanian Post.
Some branches of the Lithuanian Post Office will work longer in the pre-holiday period precisely so that customers can comfortably pick up Unisend parcels that do not fit in the post machines.
During the peak period, it is noticeable that the more spacious, L and XL size mailboxes are filled particularly quickly. In order to be guaranteed that the post office will not run out of space for your shipment, you can also contact Lithuanian Post customer service specialists. They will tell the customer which mailbox has available boxes closest to their location.

An expanded network for quick delivery

Unisend also reminds that mail-order parcels created and packed in the online self-service system with a shipping sticker can be left without a queue at any of the 170 Lithuanian post offices throughout the country. This can be done in a specially designated place of the post office - in the box for leaving parcels or in a place with the sign "Leave self-service parcels here without a queue".
It is important to remember that not only time is saved when creating postal parcels in self-service - lower shipping prices are applied here.
Currently, there are 429 post machines in 111 settlements throughout Lithuania in the Unisend network. During 2023 Unisend also expanded 95 post offices located in the most popular locations of the residents. In addition, in order to guarantee the prompt delivery of parcels before the big holidays of the year, this year, around 40 couriers were additionally hired.
